Transfer or Establish Water / Sewer Service

The steps required to establish Water & Wastewater Service through the Town of Oak Island are listed below. For further questions or concerns, contact the Customer Service Division of the Finance Department, by calling 910-201-8009, or emailing customerservice@oakislandnc.gov.

To Apply for Water & Wastewater Service:

To Transfer Utility Services:

  • NOTE: the Town CANNOT transfer utilities from a property owner without documentation showing that a property has legally changed ownership (recorded deed, closing disclosure, or HUD statement after closing).
  • When moving from a property, contact Public Utilities Billing Services to request a final meter reading date for a change in occupants or sale of the property
  • Provide a forwarding address for the final bill or refund of deposit
